The following recommended leisure activities, whilst not designed to make your heart race, are still likely to take your breath away.
HIGH TEA AT THE VICTORIA FALLS HOTEL
Be a part of over a hundred years of history with traditional afternoon high tea on the Stanley Terrace of the Victoria Falls Hotel, which offers a spectacular view of the Batoka Gorge and Victoria Falls Bridge. Enjoy tea and scones with a view to remember. In late afternoon, as the sun stretches to the horizon, a rainbow moves across the spray of the Victoria Falls.
The Victoria Falls Hotel, originally built in 1904 as accommodation for railway and bridge engineers, has grown from a temporary wood and iron structure to one of the grandest colonial period hotels in the world. Set in magnificent tropical gardens with lily ponds, palm trees and rolling lawns, the Victoria Falls are a short bush walk away.
Victoria Falls Hotel
In contrast to the colonial ambience of the Victoria Falls Hotel, the Jungle Junction restaurant offers an evening buffet barbecue with traditional entertainment, with Shangann dancers and singers.
SUNDOWNERS AT THE VICTORIA FALLS SAFARI LODGE
Overlooking the wide open bush of the Zambezi National Park, and with its own waterhole, the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge offers a spectacular setting against which to enjoy your sundowner drinks. Large open decks overlook the waterhole where elephant, buffalo and antelope often come to drink. The Lodge also operates a lunchtime ‘vulture restaurant’ (feeding station) where you can see these aerial scavengers of the bush in close quarters.
BOMA RESTAURANT AT THE VICTORIA FALLS SAFARI LODGE
More than just an ethnic restaurant, the Boma is a unique cultural experience. Located within the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge resort, this evening of entertainment offers excellent cuisine, including a variety of game meats and traditional Zimbabwean dishes, accompanied by entertainment from Shangaan dancers, drummers and singers, and a Sangoma (traditional story teller) is available for fortune telling.
RIVER CRUISES (early morning, lunch and late afternoon)
Zambezi River cruises are a superb way to relax and enjoy the scenic beauty which so enchanted Livingstone, with a good to see a variety of game, including hippo, crocodile and elephant, as well as many different bird species, such as the African Fishing Eagle, White-fronted bee-eaters and numerous egret, heron and stork species.
Cruises follow various routes according to the time of year, departing from jetty points a short distance upstream from the Victoria Falls and travelling upstream, skirting the riverine fringe and some of the larger islands before returning gently back downstream.
The Sunrise Cruise is perfect for those wishing to experience the river in the quiet of morning, and is a favourite with bird-watchers and photographers. The cruise includes a cooked breakfast, fruit, muffins, tea/coffee and orange juice.
The Lunch Cruise includes a variety of salads, fresh bread rolls, chicken, beef and vegetables, deserts, tea, coffee, beer, wine and soft drinks.
The Sunset Cruise is the most popular time on the river, with great photo opportunities against often-spectacular African sunsets. Includes light snacks, beer, wine, local spirits and soft drinks.
Enjoy sundowners and snacks served upon boarding followed by a three course set menu. The cruise offers local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks which are included in the price.
VINTAGE TRAM TOUR
Travel on a vintage replica 19th century tram. Tours begin at the iconic Victoria Falls Hotel, a short distance from the Victoria Falls Station where passengers will embark on the Victorian-styled tram and travel a short distance through the bush to the Victoria Falls Bridge. The Hotel, Station and Bridge are all linked by the development of the railway and share over a hundred years of history.
Morning Bridge Trip and Tour
Once on the Bridge passengers disembark for a full Historical Bridge Tour. The Tour includes a theatrical and entertaining presentation on the history of the Victoria Falls Bridge and the men who built it followed by a rare opportunity to explore the walkways beneath the Bridge.

Charles Brightman was our guide in the Zambezi National Park and his enthusiasm for nature and all things was so contagious that our 3 hour Walking Safari went for 5 and a half hours and finished only because we had a midday lunch appointment. Treat yourself to a wonderful experience.
Our bush walk with Charles Brightman was so informative and his love for the bush, animals, birds, environmental issues and the country was inspiring. And the sunset dinner was wonderful! Many, many thanks - a great service!
We engaged Charles as our private guide whilst on holiday in Zimbabwe last October. Cannot recommend him enough - he made our trip to Hwange!!
