Awesome birding trip – I was lucky enough to go on a birding day trip with Charles Brightman and Discover Safaris just before the Covid 19 outbreak. We departed the Victoria Falls Hotel at… read more 6 am, in time for a beautiful sunrise over the Zambezi River. Against this awesome backdrop I was able to take a number of gorgeous photographs. We then drove through the National Park, seeing giraffes, elephants, and other wildlife. I was lucky to have this experience as subsequent stops in Botswana and Kruger were abruptly cancelled due to the epidemic.

Charles was a great guide, knowledgeable, personable….when this is all over I plan to hit the reset button, return to Vic Falls, and take a walking safari with him. Highly recommended!

A mornings (half day) bird safari. – I contacted Charles before leaving the UK with a specific request for bird photograpghy opportunites; not general birding/sightings. Charles was an excellent guide with both a great deal of knowledge… read more regarding the bird life of the Vic Falls area, but also what is required to get good bird photo opportunities. We saw many different birds including a beautiful Orange Breasted Shriek, Jacobin Cuckoo, Cut Throat Finch and many others. I would highly recommend Charles to anyone visiting Zimbabwe.

On both occasions we were the only two on the tour, and both times driven and guided by Clever.

What an amazing chap Clever is, with a wealth of knowledge, taking time to explain tracks, sightings, animals, trees. Loved the coffee and muffins we stopped for, along the banks of the Zambezi, during our early morning game drive in the Zambezi National Park.

Will most certainly book with these guys again when next in Victoria Falls.

Anyone considering booking a tour through them can rest assured, their service and attention to detail is impeccable!

Well worth it.

On a side note, if you do find Victoria Falls Guides.net on the web and want to book tours through them, go right ahead, it takes the pain out of trying to do individual bookings, and their organisation is seamless, co-ordinating everything with the individual tour operators for you.

Not one of the tour operators we were booked with were late in collecting us or dropping us off at our lodge. Most of them will pick you up at your lodge and have you safely back there after the tour.

Outstanding afternoon game drive with Clever – After reading reviews about Charles / Discover we contacted Charles for an afternoon game drive. He was helpful throughout and extremely open and thoughtful in his reflections on what… read more the changeable weather might mean for our experience, including leaving the option to pull out. A rare client-centric orientation, in our experience. As Charles was unavailable at the time we chose to undertake the drive, we were delighted to have Clever, his associate, as our driver-guide. Clever’s knowledge, attentiveness and engagement was superb. "A legend", said our son. Luck went our way too, with some outstanding elephant sightings.

Just wonderful – Charles is an extremely knowledgeable guide and we saw 60+ birds including the first sighting in Zimbabwe of pink backed pelican chicks which was incredible. He is also a… read more renowned conservationist, running the anti-poaching unit. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
